MIA

It's been a crazy week!  And it is only going to get crazier.  So if I don't post for a few weeks that's why.  Last Wednesday (I think), we got a call asking to host a Chinese intern for two weeks.  Monday we picked him up from the airport!  Yes, fast turn around.  The fact that he was coming meant that we have guests staying with us for the rest of the summer.  Soooo...that meant we needed to paint the downstairs bedroom!  We spent all weekend painting, putting up new trim around doors, tearing out and updating a closet and other odds and ends projects.  Tonight, Steven's parents get here to help us do the kitchen.  New countertop! Yippee!  Buh-bye avocado green!  At some point this summer I will paint those cabinets too...don't worry - at I'm sure I'll put up pictures!  Maybe. :-)

Our intern is awesome and such a great guy.  We found him a bike to borrow for the month and he is happy to ride around town (as much as he can).  He came with 5 other Chinese interns who are working at various locations around town.  Our intern (Brian) is actually interning at Bethel Church here in town.  It's been a great experience for him so far and we have loved hosting him and getting to know the other interns.

He's leaving to go to another host family on the 6th and then our friend Vincent is coming on the 7th!  Yay!  We are really excited for Vincent to be here.  He'll be with us until August 23rd when he'll fly back to New York and then back to his home country.  During his time here we're going to Seaside with my family and hopefully will make a Seattle run to show Vincent around.

Anyways, we're busy!  Hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures of the kitchen as we get stuff done.  And hopefully we'll actually be able to get stuff done in between everyone coming and going!  Enjoy August - it's gonna fly!
