A few weeks ago I had an interesting conversation at my weekly Precepts study class. It was about dreams & flying. I haven't always been able to fly in my dreams, but more recently (in the past few years), I have often enough times taken flight in my dream. I'm never running from someone or something. When I'm flying it is awesome and peaceful. I always think I'm going to get scared (not crazy about heights), but whenever I brush those tree tops it feels normal & not all freaky or "what if I fall?" feelings. Just normal, everyday flying. As if I belong above those treetops.
Until that conversation I had never really told anyone about my dreams of flying. Not because I didn't want to, but I dream all the time and usually remember it in the morning. So having a dream I remember is not something new. Often, my dream will fade throughout the day unless it was a particularly weird or startling dream (like flying). Then I remember it quite well. Steven doesn't ever remember his dreams and thinks it's weird I remember so many of mine. So, in light of all that, I don't normally share about my dreams. However, during that conversation at Precepts one other lady also confessed she can fly in her dreams too! We both laughed about how our "flying" is really more like swimming. And although both of us can't choose to have a dream in which we fly, once we're in a dream where flying is permitted we can both choose how and when we do fly. Crazy? Probably. Later that week, my friend posted this "Does anyone else fly in their dreams? If so, how do you propel yourself through the air?" Since I'm slightly boycotting Facebook, I will pose the question to my blog followers. Do you fly in your dreams? Is it like swimming? Dancing? Floating? If you don't fly - what are your favorite dreams?

I use to dream about flying all the time. I would have to take huge running leaps to ge myself air born. Once there i was subject to wind, and couds either pulling me up or pushing me down. Once I repeatidly ran up to the highest point of a city and glided down. that was the best! :)
I've been able to fly in my dreams before. I usually start out running (in slow motion it seems) and then slowly push off until I a flying. But I never land in my dreams - I always wake up first. And usually I'm running/flying towards something - a couple of times away from something.
Chris can't remember his dreams either - mine usually involve some activity of the day but in a much more strange setting.
