I realize I haven't posted much about our vacation with Steven's family. Well, here's a picture version to suffice because, let's face it, blogging this long after the vacation has been over isn't as fun as blogging about the vacation while on it (see how I avoided that one?). We did have a really great time. So here it is in pictures...
La familia at the wedding. (I actually made it into a picture!!!)
On our way to Wisconsin we stopped at Fair Oaks Farm - the largest dairy in Indiana with over 30,000 cows! Wowza.
Mama cow lovin' on baby just after being born (yup, it's the Birthing Barn!).
Our first attempt at a family photo op. Not as good I would have hoped, but fun right? Feels like a farm to me. :-)
First stop at Wisconsin Dells was Noah's Ark Waterpark! Fun, fun. You can see more pictures & such from this post.
Our next sightseeing adventure was House on the Rock. Seen below. I can't even begin to describe it. You must google it. It's insane. Like the biggest museum you've ever been to of every crazy thing you have ever wanted (or not wanted) to see.
Literally the largest merry-go-round in the world without a single horse head on any of the animals. It was grossly insane.
Amanda & Carol in the "infinity room". A room of windows that sits high above the ground & wobbles as everyone is walking in it. Weird. What a strange man built this place.
Next up, Circus World! Where we watched a circus show & Amanda rode an elephant. This is also where we ended up picking up souvenirs. They had cards, scratch pads & other paper goods made from recycled elephant poo! Could we resist? Nope. We even got our vacation ornament in the shape of an elephant made from poo. Amazing. (Note: we get ornaments on every vacation we go on. My family started this tradition & now we do it. It's a great way to remember all the places you've been!)
Taken in the one of the mirrors in the side of an antique circus wagon. Love it!
Next up, we hit the Spam Museum on our way to South Dakota. Enough said.
Amanda doesn't look too happy in this photo. I think she didn't want to be there, what do you think?
And lastly, the night before we flew out of Sioux Falls taken at the falls. Byron, Carol & Amanda are still going strong on their way back. Hitting up Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone & other adventures.
And that's the rest of the story... or something like that!
