Happy Resurrection Day!

He is alive.  He is alive indeed!  Easter is such a funny word we use in English.  The Chinese equivalent, FuHuoJie literally means Happy Resurrection Day.  A much better interpretation I feel. Though the English word for Easter may have originated from a pagan goddess - today it means to me that my Savior is alive.  Paul says in his letter to the Corinthians (15:12-15), "But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?  If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.  And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.  More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead."  Without the resurrection, we have no faith.  The cleansing of our sins and justification of believers is a direct result of Christ's death, burial and resurrection.  Without His resurrection there is no salvation and we are made out to be false witnesses.  Paul continues, "But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.  For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.  For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."  Hallelujah!  Rejoice, for this day our Savior Christ Jesus has risen and is seated at the right hand of God making intercession for the saints.  Christ was the perfect sacrifice, being fully man and fully God, He fulfilled the prophecies and brought atonement to the saints.  He is the hope of salvation for all who believe.  Christ, our Passover Lamb, has covered us with His blood so we may live abundantly in Him!

This afternoon we will gather at my parents house with family and friends to celebrate together.  There will be prime rib, twice baked potatoes & much rejoicing as we dwell on the wondrous mercies of the cross.  What does Easter mean to you?  Any speical traditions you and your family do?  Whatever you may be doing, I pray you will be blessed!  Happy Resurrection Day!
