Every year our neighbor across the street puts on a lovely display with his irises. They are all done blooming now, but were a sight behold. Just today I learned from a friend that there was an article in the Tri City Herald a few years ago about him. According to the article, he develops new varieties of irises! How cool is that? They take up an entire corner lot and create quite the stir while blooming.
And, because my irises were in full bloom as well, a nice shot of my yellow iris (not the best color I must say - totally love the purple iris above but what can you do?).
And the rest of my spring garden in all its splendor. Now the summer flowers are starting to come to life & the roses are going crazy! Speaking of roses, anybody have any good fixes for aphids? I have an aphid infestation (as I do every summer) and need some new strategies how to get rid of the little buggers!
These are some miniature irises that were here when we moved in. I love them. And they almost double in size every year.
And I don't know what this last flower is called...I planted it with some other bulbs a few years ago & was totally surprised to see it because it didn't bloom last year and I had forgotten about it. Kind of like Christmas at springtime. :-)
