Yesterday our friend Brian took us around the city and showed us some of the main sights. It was so fun to finally get an idea of how the city is oriented. Here are some favorite pictures from the day...
This trip has been so amazing. We have got to meet with many Americans who live here and really get a good feel for the city we may eventually call home. Yesterday before we toured around the city we talked at length with a family of nine that are living here. Yes, they have seven kids! I think it's going to be hard to go back home...
Yes, that's a Rolls Royce...next to a limo in front of some random shops.
Hanging out waiting for Vincent to show up. Steven is with Brian who was our tour guide for the day. Brian stayed with us in August when he came to Tri Cities for an internship.
Playing tourist for two seconds at the Confucius Temple shopping area.
These are fake flowers that light up at night. The "bare" trees were covered in them. They come in every color imaginable.
These next couple pictures are at the Confucius Temple where we scored some awesome deals on pearls, scarves and other trinkets. I think if bartering was an Olympic sport I would at least be a silver medalist. I scored a pearl necklace that is actually three in one (really long - to my waist) for only $30...she started out at over three times that much! She made it just for me out of her best pearls (she pulled them out of a hidden drawer). Just walk away...you have to be willing to walk away.
Would you like some dehydrated duck?

Let's definitely get together as soon as you get back. I want to hear all about it! Again, you look so at home there. It's weird to think of our friends being all over the world. I need to take lessons on bartering...I can't walk away :). Love you!
